Engen Petroleum Tanzania Ltd

Engen Petroleum Tanzania Ltd was founded in 1996 when Engen Petroleum Limited purchased the Kurasini Terminal, Isaka Depot and Kigoma Depot from M/S BULK Oil Ltd.

Commencing business in 1996 as a transit depot, EPTL attained a license to operate locally the following year. Owing to its coastal location, Tanzania is an important source of product supply for landlocked countries such as Burundi, Uganda, Zambia and the DRC.

In February 2011, Engen concluded an agreement to acquire Chevron’s interests in Tanzania. All offices, service stations and terminals are currently being re-branded and upgraded to Engen and will comply to stringent Engen-Petronas HSEQ standards as well as local legislative requirements.
